Dentist in Pohang? Please help!!
Hi , my friend is living and teaching in Pohang, and she has had tremendous trouble with her teeth and the dentist (who knows very little English) that's supposed to be helping, but ending up causing more pain than began with.
Does anyone know of or can you recommend a good dentist in Pohang or as near to Pohang as possible?
We'd really appreciate any positive feedback or suggestions, thanks a huge bunch in anticipation, Smile
Cathy

Theres one in Duho-dong near Buk-gu beach called Shinsegae Dental Clinic. They advertise right on the sign that they speak english. My wife's been there a few times and she said it was a nice place.

if you are near the new city hall (I-dong) there is a road that runs over/through the mountain -- goes from near the new city hall to near the bus station (sorry, don't recall the road name). There is an intersection with a Dunkin Donuts on one corner and a Lotteria kitty-corner across the intersection. Above Dunkin Donuts on the second floor is a dental clinic -- I think it is called Sejong Dental Clinic. If you tell a taxi driver to take you to I-dong Sporex Health Club, you should see the Dunkin Donuts and the intersection.

The dentist there speaks ok English, though more medical terms than conversational. The main thing is, he is nearly pain-free. He numbs the area with topical anesthetic before giving a shot -- and he gives a shallow shot with a machine-thingy before going for the real shot. He removed a wisdom tooth for me, has done a root canal and a crown. His work has held up better than the US dentists' work I had done before, and like I said, nearly pain-free -- several of my skittish friends have been pleased with his work and their comfort while receiving treatment.

Only thing is, you usually need to make an appointment -- if you just walk in, you may be waiting a while. I usually walk in on my way to work, and make an appointment for a day or two later. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes past my appointment time, and the two times I DID have to wait, someone came out to the waiting room at my appointment time and apologized to me, explaining that the doctor was running late....

I am at work, but I think I have a card at home -- PM if you want the number on the card....

So I came to Pohang needing much dental care that I deemed too expensive as a lowley student in the states. I searched for post on Pohang dentists and found Gadfly's about the dentist above Dunkin Donuts so checked it out.

He is awesome, thanks. Ive gone to like ten visits with him and am all fixed up. He Speaks English really quite well and is completely honest. We had a bit of an issue over his recommendation of gold teeth but if you explain to him you just really prefer porcelain he is happy to accomidate. In all fairness, my research shows that gold is the prefered dental material, especially on back molars wear the biting pressure is strong, so he certainly had my best interest in mind. I just feel Im too young to go with complete functionality over aestetics at this point.

The facilities are super clean and though I didnt do any comparative shopping I found the prices to be very reasonable especailly compared to estimates I was give back home.

Anybody who needs a dentists in Pohang I'd suggest this guy.

If my Hangeul is correct his name is Huang Jee Huan, the clinic is called Sejong Dental Clinic and the phone number is 054-281-2875

Also realize this thread is super old so this post is probably in vain.
