|
|
Hi folks,
just a quick question:
Has anyone flown from Ireland (Northern or Republic of...) to Incheon?
If so what airline did you you use?
I just had a check on Lufthansa flying from Dublin and they were bloody pricey even with an economy tariff.
Only reason I ask is that my school is asking that I pay for the ticket up-front and they will re-imburse when I arrive. This however will leave me pretty skint (at best) for a month/6 weeks after I arrive.
I'm also going to be carrying rather a lot of luggage (scuba equipment), so the Emirates flight from Glasgow is also out due to thier baggage rates...
Any hidden bargins that anyone has heard about? |

You're talking about 900 euro one way.
A return ticket isn't much dearer...unfortunately it's hard to find a return ticket that will cover the year (and you might decide to stay/travel in Asia for a few months).
I used to do:
Ireland->London via Ryanair.
London->Frankfurt->Incheon using Lufthansa. |

I flew air emirates from dublin to incheon.....two weeks ago
The flight had two stopovers, one in london (Heathrow) one in dubai ( the benefit of this was that I got a 30kg allowance with emirates compared to 20kg with others) the firts flight out of dublin is with aer lingus but they honour the 30kg baggage allowance from emirates and I also took a wheely carry on (about 12kg and a laptop bag).
The flight time was about an hour to heathrow, change terminals, then 6 to dubai, an hour or two wait and then 8 to seoul.
Emirates are great to fly with, roomy seats, great food (for planes) and an awesome selection of movies, games and up to date news text on the bbc website on those little tvs.
The bags were checked in at dublin airport and I didn't see them again till I got to seoul.
Total cost for the ticket?? 443
I booked through expedia...the trick is to book through expedia.com(u.s site) not the irish site or the .co.uk as you won't get offered the emirates flight from there and lufthansa/klm/ba are all too expensive to fly with.
look it up for those dates required and book it on their site. |
