Interesting! The article says:

"Elevated dissolved oxygen concentrations in alcoholic drinks accelerate the metabolism and elimination of alcohol."

I wonder if this metabolism acceleration would also initially get one drunk quicker, as I have always heard carbonated alcoholic drinks do.

I dunno, but it says one sobers up quicker. This could be a negative fact, depending on who you're talking to.

Dog soup is the #1 cure for hangovers among Korean men. At least that's what Mr. Kim tells me at the soju tent.

true... maybe the answer is to keep drinking until you fall asleep, then sober up and wake up headache free.

My GF and I drank some of this o2 lin soju in Daejeon, at the weekend. We both enjoyed the flavor (as much as you can for soju) and didn't realize it was special in any way. We drank 3 bottles between us. She got shit canned but I was OK. It didn't really register the next day, that we didn't have hangovers, but the better part of two bottles is usually enough to leave me feeling shitty the next day. Thumbs up in my estimation.

No idea. No more expensive than usual, I don't think. We had it at a generic samgyupsal joint. The meal didn't seem any more expensive than usual. I don't usually take much notice of that stuff, and I didn't know at the time it was anything special.

I think the company doesn't actually produce its own soju. I noticed the first bottle had "Jinro" embossed on the glass and the second had "Samyung", (or some such, I can't quite remember now) they both had the same 02 Rin label on the bottle.

I found when I was younger I didnt really get hangovers..
now in my 30's its like OH MY GOD..
try drinking water during the night, drinking water before bed.. sleep 8 hours.. etc.. still feel terrible in the morning.. but.. 3 tyrolnols, big cup of strong coffee, 2 glasses of water. a hot shower and some fresh air outside helps.. still takes about 4 hours before you feel half decent...

Longer for me, but yes, Time is the only real cure. That or using moderation beforehand. But if one did that we would not be having this conversation.

It's like when I used to go deep-sea fishing on the big party boats in Florida. Newbies who were wise enough to take motion sickness pills usually did not get sea-sick. But the key was taking it an hour or so before the boat set out. If you waited until you were already feeling nauseous, it was too late.

And if you've never been sea-sick, let me tell you, it is as bad or worse than any hangover. The joke is at first you are afraid you are going to die, and then later you wish you would die.
