I'm looking to get a new camera and camcorder. I saw the new 550D and think that might work but I'm not sure if the video aspect will be worth it am I just going overkill with this?
Would a seperate camera and camcorder be better? I want to use them for blogging, video blogging, vacations and that's about it.
Any suggestions? I have the bad habit of being mesmerizes by the latest shiny toys.
Thanks for any input |

I'm totally psyched about this new camera. It's basically an EOS 7D "lite". I personally prefer it and the 7D over most of the consumer camcorders available now. Depending on your lens choice, you could have much better optics using the cameras than using a consumer camcorder. The flexibility of the cameras will be much greater than that of a camcorder. For the price, it can't be beaten, either.
Of course, the cameras do suffer from some "rolling shutter" but it isn't a dealbreaker for me. I don't know if camcorders exhibit that behavior or not.
If I hadn't purchased a 7D from tigerdirect a while back, I would definitely buy the 550D (T2i). |
