Does anyone know of a store that sells Mac software? I'm looking to buy Logic Studio for my Macbook Pro. I know I can order it online, but I wanted to check if anyone knew where I might be able to find a copy. I live in Ilsan, so Seoul is definitely an option. Let me know if you can help! |

I have an updated copy of Logic Studio 9, and I'd be willing to torrent it to you for free, since I paid nothing for it myself.
Otherwise, if you want to be straight up and pay for it, I saw it at an A+ Store here in Daegu. That is only one of three, which i saw carrying it however. There is Logic Express at all the A+ locations I visited, but Pro's pricing keeps it off the shelves i suppose.
There is usually an A+ store in the most modern department stores
Ah, I've also seen it at one Pixdix store, which is also in some department stores.
I also have a ton of great plugins like Spectrasonics Stylus RMX, and Spectrasonics Trilian, both in 64 bit, if you want. |

Since, I am hoping to be using it professionally, I think I'm going to go ahead and give Apple the credit by purchasing it. However, thanks for the offer.
I am heading out shopping today, so I will look around some more. If not, I might have to head to the places you suggested.
Do you compose or produce music yourself, or just kinda mess around with it? |

I've been producing house/techno professionally (off and on) for about 10 years. Check out Demonoid for some really great Logic9 tutorials which will help you speed up your workflow. This thing is one hell of a great, uber-powerful program, and worth every penny if you pay for it. I am still discovering new things it can do. |

Copied the discs from a friend, and just updated it through Apple.
I just thought of something else. You MIGHT be able to get it with a 5% educators discount that Apple Korea offers for phone orders. Usually the discount is only for hardware, but I know someone who got it for Motu. I got discount for MobileMe that way too. You can pay by bank transfer as well.
If I were you, I'd check that out before buying it in a store.
What's your style? Are we going to be competing for plays? |

Ah, okay. I think I might just order the software off Amazon to the US, and have a friend ship it to me here. It's much cheaper off Amazon...around $440.
I would say my style is a blend of hip-hop/techno/rock, with concentration on vocal melodies as well. I didn't want to limit myself to a specific style, so I'm working with finding a way to make all of my interests coexist. |

This is one of those times where you should be paying for the software you use |

No, it isn't.
I had a full on production business set up with friends, years back. Each of us contributed something. I contributed most of the hardware. The Logic Studio (version 8 at the time; purchased by one of my partners), was purchased as a volume license. This means it can be used on multiple computers in our network.
Since then, I have updated it through Apple. |
