Curious as to how people will interpret the following scenario:
Three people go to a restaurant. It has a very nice salad bar, but it's specialty is steak. The cost is about 12,000 won for a steak and an all you can eat salad bar.
Two of the people love steak and the other is a vegetarian.
One of the steak lovers invites the vegetarian saying the restaurant has a really good salad bar and that he and the other steak lover will eat the extra steak and pay a chunk of the 12,000 won.
The other steak lover is really angry at this suggestion, arguing that the salad bar is really nice and that it alone amounts to the 12,000 won price. He does not want to pay anything for eating the third steak. He believes the vegetarian is cheap and selfish.

Other steak lover only gets his/her own steak. First steak lover pays half of vegetarian's bill, eats extra steak. Problem solved. |

Good grief. Anyone who gets their panties in a bunch over 12 bucks needs a bullet in the head. |

Just to be clear, it's not actually 12,000 won, but rather about 5 or 6000 won that the guy is REALLY angry about.
I should add a bit more context, I think...
The person who is angry has elevated this to a different level and routinely brings it up. This incident has led to many problems. The vege guy doesn't really care and just think 'steak guy' is crazy. But to steak guy this is a MAJOR issue. |

I would politely try to accommodate steak guys wishes. If he didn't accept that I would tell him to take a massive hike or some such. Steak guy is a big fat jerk.
On a different note. Where is this place? 12K for steak and salad seems pretty good. I gave up on going out for steak because I can cook it better at home. But, 12K would be too tempting to pass up. |

His belief is stupid, intolerant and typical of a borderline personality. He is not all there mentally. A vegetarian is 'selfish' for not wanting to buy a meat steak? There is a basic ignorance of even the way of thinking of a vegetarian. Even the most diehard meat advocate grants that a vegetarian is acting on a principle however wrongheaded it may be. |

There is actually a word in English for people like this steak guy: dork. |
