| I have seen and used it in class years ago and can't find it anywhere. I can't even remember the name. It is sort of like Friends, but cheesier. I remember 2 girls living together and some Italian guy coming to live with them. Anyone remember the name and where I can get the episodes and worksheets? I could have sworn I got it from eflclassroom, but had no luck finding it. |

| Sounds like Mind Your Language, a British comedy which was copied (by permission) for an American release. I don't think either lasted long. |

| I know what you are talking about. I think I saw it on the EBS English channel last year, when I lived in Gangwon-do. Perhaps it was from their website, but I did a search and could not find it. Good luck! |

| Mind your Language was actually set in an EFL class room and, as I remember, was nothing like Friends. It was also, by modern standards, appallingly racist and is worth a look just to remember what was acceptable back in the 70s |

The girls were British and so was the guy trying to get into their pants. I have seen it on EBS as well, I just wish I could remember where I downloaded it from  |

So what's your role as a teacher here? I wouldn't know how to use these in a lesson.
Alos in my opinion this series is sleazy and sexual and maybe inappropriate. |

Awesome, thanks!
Not much of a role at the moment. Need to get something to cover a few classes and this will help in part. I am by no means planning on using just this, but it will keep them entertained and they need to know the sleazy bits (high school boys). |

I'm sure this isn't what you're looking for, but it really reminds me of Three's Company (which was also based on a British sticom). Wow. That brings back memories. That was probably John Ritter at his best.
Anyway..... back on topic. Headways (published by OUP) also made a video course book. I haven't watched it recently but I remember it was set in suburban England. There were 2 girls and 2 guys. They weren't living together, but they hung out a lot. There was a textbook and a series of short videos. I don't remember when it was published but I think it was probably mid 90s. I found the stories themselves a bit boring, but at least it was a change from regular listening/reading activities.
I would be very cautious about showing Koreans (even adults) something that in any way implies sexuality. They're real prudes. I doubt they'd care though if it's a bit racist (as long as it's not racist against Koreans/Asians). Show them Men Behaving Badly or Are You Being Served and watch their faces turn red in embarrassment (although be warned that you'll probably have to explain all the jokes to them).
Stick to something juvenile that only requires a short attention span. Mr. Bean is always a good choice. In fact, there are quite a lot of handouts and activities that EFL teachers have created for Mr. Bean videos.
I've got to get home. If my *beep* isn't attended to by 8 o'clock, I shall be strokin' it for the rest of the evening. |
