| Does anyone know where I can find the English version of the teacher guide for the new English 4th grade textbook? (I'm talking about the textbook that most elementary public schools use with the lovely characters such as Julie, Zeeto, Minsu, Anne, etc.) I found the old version on the GEPIK website, and I'm guessing it might be too early to find a new version with the extra eight chapters, but just in case... |

Sadly I have the feeling we won't be getting an English teacher's guide at all. Supposedly that book is only going to be used for one year, then there'll be an all new one (for grades 3-6) next year.
Just what I heard from a couple different sources. |

| I don't think the teacher's guides are necessary anyway. The lesson is better without it in my opinion. I, for one, never used them last year and this year will be no different. It's easy enough to know what you're looking at and what the students are supposed to do. BTW, I have to new gr 4 Teacher's guide...half of it is in Korean and as usual, it doesn't help. |

The lessons are so simple that I never needed the teachers guides either.
As long as the students had their books and I had the CD/ROMs to work from, it was all good. |

I have Teacher's English Guide Book but half of it is in Hangul. Are you guys talking about guides all in English  because that would be helpful. Are these just to help us clarify the lesson instructions or to help us with making lesson plans? Sorry I'm new to this and elem teaching thanks. |

| My question is... Why would they spend all of this money to upgrade the 3 and 4 curriculum, just to toss it out next year with new stuff for 3-6?? LOL |

To answer the last posters question, its because the amount of English being taught (book lessons) has increased 2x this year, so they needed more 'content'.
I guess it was a nation wide thing but my 3rd and 4th Grades did a set of tests today (to determine base levels) for English and some other K subjects.
Ask your K teachers if you can see the 'English test!' 
Its a good way for you to understand the sort of stuff they NEED to know for the test, then if you've got a cool school you can move on and teach them some English!!!! |
