Hello, I had just a really broad question for you all.

I was curious if there are quite a few Taiwanese/Japanese in Korea. I know that there are International communities in Korea, but I for some reason get the impression that these International communities are mostly of Western backgrounds.

Anyhow, just thought I would ask because as odd as it sounds I enjoy hanging out with other foreign Asians.

(By the way, what exactly do they do here in Korea?)

Jeez that's freakin weird!

Many Japanese and/or Taiwanese study at universities here or come for tourism. Go to Myeong-dong and start saying "Ohayo' to random shoppers and you're bound to get a response, though maybe not a friend right away.

I think the main Japanese area is Ichon, just a little south of Itaewon on the riverfront. Quite a bit of Japanese signage. Here's a bit of info: http://www.lifeinkorea.com/Travel2/433

I used to live in Japan so was craving for some more authentic type Japanese cuisine.I was quite disappointed the last time I went as there were not so many Japanese (especially Japanese owned) restaurants and I didn't see so many Japanese people about....rather like the so called "French Village".

90% of the shoppers in myeongdong are japanese..or so it seems..
theres also a small chinatown area in myeongdong, up at the post office end. few taiwanese places there...

there are LOTS of japanese studying at the language schools and universities...fewer taiwanese but still a few.
