Have any of you ever tried Cook's deli meats and/or Gavin's sausages and pies? If so, what's the verdict? |

I bought a pack of the original sausages from myong-dong and they lasted about 5 mins. Fantastic. A little pricey, but fantastic. Couple them with the hash browns you can get around here and the 1/4 decent bacon at my corner shop and you've got a semi-decent fry-up. |

I have bought Gavin's sausages a number of times, they are the best I have found here, although a little pricey. The pies are also good but too expensive to eat often.
i would be interestedto learn more about Cook's deli meats. |

Here's his website for anyone interested.

Haven't ordered from him but I know many of the expat community (Engineers at Ulsan/Okpo shipyards) order from him. They buy in bulk so can be reasonably priced in that sense. |

I am wondering if any of his products would go well in a red sauce. Italian sausage is good in a tomato sauce. |

You can sometimes find Gavin's sausages at Hannam Supermarket just down from the harley Davidson shop near Hangangjin station and last I heard there was a department store in Myeong-dong selling them, though the name escapes me at this time.
Gavin's sausages are fantastic, but I'd also recommend Chef Meili's toulouse and merguez (Next to Gecko's Terrace at Itaewon station). He doesn't make them that often, but they're worth snatching up if he has some on offer. His toulouse sausages go very well in a tomato sauce... |

Am I reading correctly from the site - It looks like it's 12,500 for two standard sized mince pies. I know we're a long way from the commonwealth, but still, steep.
Suspect I'll buckle eventually.
EDIT: After looking again I think these are meal sized pies rather than dairy (convenience store) sized pies. Seems the 'hand pies' are 5 for 12,500. Pretty good. |

I guess that for those who didn't bring spices with them, this is what has to be done. Every time I went back home though, I would stock up on spices. I make my own ground Italian sausage. It's actually quite easy! Much better than just using the ground pork straight. |

Haddon House supermarket near Oksu Station has Gavin's sausages in their freezer case. I've seen John Cook lunch meat at Sinsegae Dept stores, but they don't always have it, and EMart at I-Park Mall has John Cook beef hot dogs intermittently. |

This also sounds very interesting. What sort of price/quality are we talking here? |
