a tiny apartment and inflated prices in restaurants, bars, etc.

Many students will be very good at English because their parents have paid a lot to have them learn it in private hagwons. Some students will have lived abroad. |

				| I've heard some really mixed stories about gangnam. Really high level but pseudo foreigners. expect rebellious, western style kids. |

				| With the exception of housing and some of the watering holes, Kangnam-Ku is LESS expensive than any other area of this country! |

expect some foreigners to love you and hate you.

Gangnam is really nothing to be proud of.

Kind of like the slums of Beverly Hills |

I live in Gangnam and teach in Seocho which is adjacent, was randomly assigned there by SMOE. It's good and bad. I can walk to at least 250 restaurants from my front door about a third of which are something other than Korean food. The prices tend to be 2-5,000 Won more than other areas. There are countless clubs, malls, singing rooms, and movie theatres but you can't find a grocery store anywhere.

The students are great, high level and polite at my school. No complaints.

The worst part is travel, Gangnam, while a city center, is not that close to a lot of the places I want to go like Itaewon, Hongdae and Dongdaemun. It takes at least 45 minutes by subway to get to those places. |

I live in Gangnam and it takes 20-25 mins or so using 421 bus to Itaewon (from Gangnam/Sinnonhyun bus stop).

You're right about grocery stores itself, though there is Gangnam market just past Kyobo.

There is also Kims Club at Express Bus Terminal which takes 10-15 mins on a by bus. E-mart is 2 stops away at Seollung but a 10 min walk from there.....but no E-marts/Cosco's in Gangnam area itself. Closest Coscto is Yangjae but not that close to the subway unfortunately (though you can bus it there) |

I wasn't insult you. I was just saying the information is bs. Which it is 100%

Gangnam is the most expensive area in Seoul. Seoul is the most expensive part of Korea. I just don't understand why you would make such a statement unless you just got here a week ago or you did it on purpose as a joke. No offense. |

Word. I've been here 5 years and travelled (for work and pleasure) from the top to the bottom. Gangnam is in the top 5 most expensive places to go in Korea.

The cheapest place I've found yet, surprisingly, is Wando, the place where you take the ferry to Jeju-do. Good God it's cheap there. I bought a banana shake for 1,000won (in bundang its 2,500), and fireworks for 1,000won each (the 4,000won+ kind)

Considering that's all I bought there though, don't take my word for it haha |
