Is it a problem that people at 35 haven't had PIV (I'm assuming) sex? |
Jokingly: Yes.
Seriously: Yes. |
Why? |

Sex is fun. Sex is a biological drive. Waiting until 35 goes against the human nature to procreate and enjoy life/be happy. |

So what about gay and lesbian people? Sex of course is fun, but they don't procreate through sex. |

it's a basic biological drive, that has little to do with reproduction though it's fair to assume Mather Nature instituted in within us for purposes of healthy reproduction of the species.
I don't think there's anything "wrong" with someone not wanting to have sex. But it'd be highly abnormal and unusual. |

if you had to *beep* a 60 year old dude you'd hate it too. |
fair enough but that stance merits a look in the mirror.
who'd want to screw a 60 year old woman?
The very things that give most women their sexual appeal are the very things that are destroyed or adversely affected by age. That's not the case for men.
There's no 60 year old woman who could equal say Jack Lalane at 60.
He had the body of a 30 year old or younger.
but going back to the question of who's want to screw a 60 year old woman?
the answer is apparently , plenty of old guys, they (just like young guys) will screw just about ANYTHING) |

I wonder what that figure is in Korea |
that'd be interesting to find out. In the meantime, this could be of interest:

Old but Sexually Vital
A TV host, who has been covering the life of senior citizens since 1994, published a book, in which she argued that the society should pay more attention to one of the most neglected issues of the elderly: their sexual desire.
In a book, titled "The Second Youth," Yu young-mi who works for SBS, said, "Our society needs to drop its prevalent and preconceived idea that when you get old, you don't feel the sexual desire any more," Chosun Ilbo on Saturday cited her as saying.
"Those younger assume the senior citizens don't feel the sexual. Senior citizens themselves also feel not 'appropriate' to acknowledge it either.
"But the matter of the fact is that many elderly people still have the sexual need," she said.
Yu came to know this rather private, almost neglected concern of the elderly when she frequently met with senior citizens in the late 1990s. "I found out that this problem is big on their minds. But they couldn't discuss it with their family members. So, I felt that I should raise awareness of the issue by airing it," she said.
Yu was bold and straightforward in her book too. At one page, she wrote: "Foreplay is the key in elderly sex."
Yu also said that senior citizens themselves needs to build internal confidence, not fall victim to "feeling of deprivation," which she cited as the most common challenge for the elderly. |

Why does everything have to be a social problem? How about instead fo society doing this or that, old people just do what they want? If old people want to have sex, they can have sex without the rest of society cheering them on.
Oh, but that's incredibly obvious and wouldn't sell any books, so instead it needs to be construed as a social problem worthy of attention by the non-elderly. |

I agree with you in most respects. However, a societally prevalent view is that the elderly are asexual.
my kid brother for example finds it extremely uncomfortable to talk or think or even imagine our parents having sex. He's obviously a blithering moron on the matter, and I can't seem to untie this Gordian knot.
anyways, I'd agree with you that society doesn't really need to "pay attention" to this, but it should provide a normal environment for the elderly where sex can take place if they so desire, just as it exists for the young. |

i feel compelled to post that the study the OP posted about is not about 35+ year old virgins. it is about women, 35 or older, who no longer have sex. i believe the percentage of 35+ virgin women is in the single digit range. |

Maybe if old people weren't so gross and old they'd get laid more. Personally I have no intention of becoming a sad old fart with a ponch and a fanny pack, I'd rather be the 50 year old buff guy dating the 25 year old. |
