Why do you say that? Because Michael Moore's films have an agenda?. It's pretty obvious most of the time, but don't most documentaries have an agenda? Often it's the director's agenda that motivates him or her to pick up the camera in the first place.
And even if the diector gives both side of an issue equal time, he / she still chooses about 2 hours out of several hours of footage shot to put in the film. What goes into the film and what remains on the editor's floor is the result of an agenda. "I'm going to tell them this, but I'm not going to tell them that."
Then there are camera angles, framing, shot length, and editing choices that have to be made so you tell me if it's really possible to be 100% unbiased?
BTW, thanks to the other posters for your recommendations. Keep them coming please. |

Speaking of biased documentaries. The Cove was a good movie, but unfairly picked on Japan only. The same kind of disgusting dolphin hunt is happening in Denmark.
Maybe the filmmakers want to make Cove 2 - the sequel.

| I just want to warn anyone here that is told that The Devil and Daniel Johnston is a good film - I hope you enjoy watching a 2 hour movie about an introverted hack loser. |

It's stupid to eat whale anyway. The bigger the fish, the higher concentrations of mercury. Not exactly something I want in high concentrations in my food. |

Documentary films can have an opinion, message, or agenda, but they are differentiated from propaganda films by their treatment of facts (read: their objectivity). |

It actually had the opposite effect on me, I now agree with the Japanese that we should treat those in competition for our fish stocks as pests. However, point about those in captivity I agree with the documentary it is completely cruel.
Must see documentary....Not Evil Just Wrong: The true cost of global warming hysteria 2009
