Why not just check Emart or Home Plus first?

Because the cord is most likely HP-specific. Neither E-Mart nor HomePlus is likely to have the item. Best to head to the electronics market in the old bus terminal building in Yongsan. If I remember correctly there are many after service shops in the basement while the computer retailers are up on the third or fourth floors.

It's possible that HP uses a proprietary power cord, but most are generic. I needed a new cord and just typed the name of the notebook into gmarket. It came up with both a factory original and a generic model. The generic model was 40,000 cheaper, so I got that. Haven't had any issues so far.

Most laptops these days use the same power cord.

I stand corrected...I think. I'd still head to the Yongsan electronics market over E-Mart or HomePlus though, if only for a better selection and price.
