Hi,
Would mildly elevated blood pressure jeopardize passing the medical check? |

I don't think so.
My blood pressure was really high. I blame it on having to go for the medical check up at 9 am, after arriving in the country at 7 pm the night before, having had a 38 hour trip to Korea. I just had to go back the next day and have it tested again and it was fine. I'm pretty sure, though, that I only had to go back because my handler forgot to do the X-ray. If we had done that, I probably wouldn't have had to. |

I think you'll be fine. My blood pressure was also elevated due to stress during the medical exam and nobody said a word. I got my arc with no problems. |

No, it wouldn't fail you from passing as mine read high, but is normal under normal circumstances. It's going to read higher than normal, becuase going in for an exam makes anyone a bit nervous, especially so in a foreign country where passing this exam determines whether you have a job or not paying your airfare and salary. Since new teachers and recent grads are usually of modest means on a skeleton budget, this means a lot to them. |

I wouldn't think so. Mine was pretty high and I was on BP medicine when I came. They just said it was too high just like they said I was too fat. But no one said anything about it after that.
I've lost weight and been more active and my BP normal now.
Also, some of their old machines will read very high. Soem of the old ones I can't even fit my arm in. When a nurse or more modern machine read them it is more on point. |
