| Does this rule still apply? Using only recruiter when applying for SMOE? |

| It's a bit ambiguous at this point, as most, if not all S.M.O.E. positions in August 2010 will be recruited through EPIK. This represents a major shift in public schools recruitment procedures. We are still awaiting details on how this will work. |

| I wonder how far in advance you have to apply in order to be considered for the area that you say you have a preference for. I guess it all depends on if a teacher is leaving and therefore, there is a position open in the school. |

| The S.M.O.E. recruiting process is now run through the Ntl. government. They won't promise you a specific location. However if you are looking at teaching in Seoul for Feb, 2011, get your documents together now. The gov't will start to accept applications once the new application forms are released in October, and judging by the number of applicants, public school jobs for February will fill very, very quickly, particularly in Seoul. A lot of people missed out on public school jobs this August because their documents were not filed on time, or not submitted properly. They are quite strict - not much margin for error. Hope this helps. |

Eeeh, how quickly are we talking? (not just in Seoul but in general) 4-6 weeks? |

| No specific date has been given yet, but judging by past recruiting cycles, they will start accepting applications on or around Oct. 1. |

| My contract with a GEPIK high school ends in may, will be extended through June, and after that they don't have budget for me. I would like to spend the summer getting my CELTA and visiting my family, an August start date would be perfect, when will SMOE begin accepting applications? |

The SMOE hires through EPIK, and EPIK should start accepting applications in April, so it would be a good idea for you to get started. |
