I was just told they will be charging more for tax or pension starting from my pay day in April.

Is this true for everyone?

pension or tax?

http://www.nps.or.kr/

http://www.nts.go.kr/

Check it out first hand... or send the agency involved an e-mail or phone call to be sure.

(oh, and news to me if the rate was going up from 9%) It would be in your benefit if it was.

Some companies/schools were scamming the pension by declaring your income at 70% due to the 30% tax exemption enjoyed by foreigners. This tax exemption disappeared this year along with their excuse to report your income at 70% of it's value. Wow they've waited 3 months to fix this, gotta love the ethics of Korean hagwons.

It's irrelevant to South Africans(they don't have to pay pension), good news for Americans, Canadians and Australians, and not good for the other E2 nations.

So this pension we are paying more for is the same pension that they must pay half of and in the end benefits the E2 holders that get their pensions returned?

All I was told was, "It's some sort of 401k type thing from the government, they are charging more."

My coteacher doesn't know anything about it and said if I need details to ask my boss.

I was just curious about it because my April payday marks the final day of my contract. I was just curious if they are trying to skim a little extra from me or what.
