Thinking about heading down to Busan for the weekend. Just wondering what is worth seeing down there this time of year. I am quite active, but open to nearly anything.
Also could someone recommend a good area to stay down there? I don't know busan at all. |

Agreed on Hae Dong Yong Gu Temple - it's out near haeundae in an area called Song-jeong - the beach past haeundae.
Nampo-dong has been improved a lot and jagalchi fish market is a very fun trip.
As for areas to stay, if you want to pay, stay in haeundae, however if you just want a motel then there are so many options, dongnae, seomyeon (also a fun area at night), would be my first recommendations.
Also you should visit gwangan beach at night, it's really picturesque!
There's a lot to see in the area - mostly Busan is famous for beaches though. |

Stay at the Toyoko Inn next to Busan Station. It's reasonably priced. Especially, if you sign up for a membership. It's also very clean.
Yongdusan Park in Nampo Dong is a good place to start. |

The really cool nightlife has sort of migrated to the Kyungsan University area. You might try going out there at night.
Mt. Geumgang would probably be fun if it's nice weather this weekend. |

Must See:
Beomeosa Temple, next to Geumjangsansang Mountain/Fortress.
Nampodong- Old downtown, Awesome for shopping and restaurants, also has four movie theaters at PIFF Square (Pusan International Film Festival)
Jagalchi Fish Market- Right near nampodong, gigantic fish market, quite a site to see.
Seomyeon- The new downtown, department stores, lots of stuff.
Kyungsung University- The place to be for nightlife, tons of food and foreigner bars and dance clubs
Haeundae Beach- One of the coolest spots in Busan.
Gwang-an Beach- Just south of Kyungsung with of view of the famous bridge.
That should keep you busy and cover your bases. |

Thanks everyone just got back from a great weekend. I would recommended busan for a cheap weekend away.
Stayed in a love motel by Haeundae Beach, it's a nice area and the motel was pretty cool
Hae Dong Yong Gu Temple was also really nice.
The fish market was cool, if you have friends from outside of korea they will love it.
Gwang-an Beach was nice to walk down after the fish
spent Sunday at Beomeosa Temple and hiked yp to the wall, great views up there.
Once again thanks everyone, the girl I was with loved it down in Busan, neither of us had been there before can't believe I have been here three years and never got down there |
