Is there anybody who can tolerate or justify this?

"If you wanna pretty, every wanna pretty".
Nicole from the States somehow agreed to sing that atrocious Konglish part. Poetic license? |
A Korean girl told me that the lyrics are shortened, "just like a newspaper headline".

| Alot of the time Konglish annoys me because a lot of Konglish replaces perfectly adequate Korean words. The best case I can think of for this is at a restaurant near my workplace. All of the rice dishes on the menu, and these are Korean rice dishes, say "라이스" rather than simply "밥". For example, it'll say "김치 라이스" instead of "김치 볶음밥". Stupid. |
Ditto. For another example, 와이프 bugs me. Why on earth use an English word for that?? |

<shrug> I can accept that Koreans will do funny things with a foreign language, much as English speakers misuse Spanish or French phrases.
What amazes me is how many foreign teachers prefer Konglish in many cases (Mike Teacher, Kelly Teacher, for example). |
