Home plus usually has a kiosk/desk to apply for them
Most Samsung branded stores stores have a desk to apply for one.
The Samsung department stores ALWAYS have a desk to apply for one (M/C or VISA branded).
You can also call them - I don't have my wallet in my pocket so I don't have the number handy (it's on the back of the card).

I'm thinking its easier to get a Samsung Card that's all!
I don't know the ins and outs etc but id say there isn't a huge actual difference between one card or other.
Samsung has some discounts etc for certain places
Samsung seems to go out of its way to give out Samsung cards thus making it easier too.. and therefore possibly more popular.

There prob isn't much difference really... |

Credit cards here work like American Express back home. Unless arranged with the retailer they must be paid in full each month. Don't use Cash Advances (cash service) and don't take installment payments unless they're interest free and the APR isn't relevant.
Actually they start at 22.9%. They will reduce your rate too. Pay your bill on time, don't use the cash service and you will drop to 16.9% within a year and so on. |

Does KB* even give KB c/c's to foreigners without a security deposit?
None of the other banks will. They ALL require a security deposit equal to about 110% of your credit limit.
Samsung will give a cc to a foreigner if, EVEN if you are E2 as long as you work for one of the large COMPANY (LTD) schools, a public school (EPIK/GEPIK/SMOE) or a university.
IF you work at a franchise hakwon then the banks are your only option.

I don't believe KEB demands a security deposit for their cc.
I don't much of benefit of Samsung CC over a KEB credit card other than I can use my samsung card at Costco. This is handy for getting tax back on purchases at the end of the year. |

Umm.... KB (Kookmin Bank) and KEB (Korean Exchange Bank) are NOT the same.
KEB will NOT give unsecured credit cards to E2 holders with 2 notable exceptions (I know from previous communication with them).
KB* - I don't know what their policy is - I suspect it is the same.
Samsung WILL give E2s an unsecured cc under certain conditions (as indicated above). |

Never said that they were.

Okay the two exceptions are that you need to work for either public school or a University, right? |

Government or (publicly listed) corporation.
Public schools fall under public/government employee.
Universities fall under either government (public uni) or corporation (private uni).
Hakwons (with the exception of YBM corporate schools) are not in either class.

also some companies have agreements with samsung and other credit cards to allow you a grace period for several months with no interest. i know dell was just allowing 6 months no interest with a samsung card. so the apr isnt a big deal at all. |

not sure if your question has been answered yet... but you can sign up for one at Costco locations in Korea... or
at the Shinsegae Dept. store in Myeongdong. I think floor 11 or close to the top has a Samsung Card office. demand to speak to a person that speaks some Englishee (a younger girl, most likely, as the older hags will not speak a lick of Englishee)
you'll need the regular documents, and proof of work or employment from your employer. ask for it first, and bring with you when you apply. that way you seem more prepared |
