Trying to find T/C's in US$1,000 denominations.
AmEx stopped printing them but there are some in circulation. Went to local branches of Shinhan / KB and was told only $500 was available. Anyone know if the exchange counters at the airport have them?
Thanks |

How much do you need to carry that $500s are too small?
$10,000 is only 20 small pieces of paper in your pocket.
More than that you should just do a bank transfer because of the paperwork involved in carrying more than $10,000 in negotiable instruments across international borders.
This would be especially true if you were one of the unfortunates who gets pulled out of line for further inspection as they pass through USCIS points going into the states AND who didn't do the paperwork for importation of money in excess of $10,000.

The paperwork is one form. Takes an extra minute. Not really a hassle.
Well, at least when entering the US as a US citizen. |
