I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any hobby shops in Seoul that might sell RC nitro trucks and nitro fuel? Can't buy the fuel online as it would have to be sent through the mail, which is a no go. Any info would be appreciated!! Cheers!

There's one in Yongsan, sorta near the big intersection. Can't be more clear, because I've only been there once and that was a while ago.

I think he's referring to the intersection at ﰢ where number 4 and 6 lines cross. If that's true, on the north/south running street in the southwest quadrant area of the intersection not too far from one of the exits.

What kind of hobby stuff are you looking for?

edit: just reread your post. Maybe there. There's another between and ̴ not too far from Artreon on the same side of the street.

I can try. . .

Samgakchi is the one near Yongsan.

The other one is between Shinchon and Ehwa stations on the number 2 line.

Edit: I'm talking about if you get out at Yongsan station and head to the first big electronics building. You'll see the main road from that building, and you'll see an intersection there.

The intersection with Lotteria on one corner, a big giant bank building on one corner, a building that is made of a few long tunnels filled with cell-phone vendors on one corner, and a corner with a bunch of second hand computer stuff.

Anyway, the hobby shop is a stones throw down the street from the bank, on the second floor. It's got a big R/C sign or something like that, so it's not hard to find. Sorry about the bad directions, it's been about a year since I've gone to Yongsan, and about a year and a half since I've been to the R/C place.

Samgakji Station is where the huge war museum is, if that helps, and I dont think it does.

Thundarr, do you mean the building with the giant Gundam robot on the side of it that you can see from Yongsan Station?

There used to be one in the COEX mall, as well as one across the street from the Express Bus Terminal (on the way to Kim's Club)
They both had RC stuff but I don't know about nitro and I don't know if they're still there or not...

The one at the COEX was there last time I dropped in to Seoul.

Okay, now that I got an idea of what is meant by hobby shops: As far as I've ever noticed these things, there have been hobby shops all over the place. Like most businesses in Korea, you usually need to go looking around off of the main streets for them.

The lack of zoning in Korea makes for an interesting city, but it also makes things hard to find.

If you pop out of Samgachi subway, the exit that leads to the War Memorial Museum STOP. Look across the street and on the second level is a hobby shop. Hump back down the stairs and under the street to get to it. That's one. There's also an Academy modelling/hobby shop around there, too. It's an Academy shop out at Coex mall, too.
Academy Modelling is the big company/maker in K. You can buy their plastic models all over the world. But here they're cheaper. This company has a color catalogue. Ask for it at the Academy shop when you go, it's great bathroom reading. All the models, R/C cars, paintball gun, R/C boats. Probably have a website. Search for, maybe, Academy Plastic Models Korea, or something like that.

The on in COEX mall is the best and cheapest i have seen so far. They also have a wide selections of models other than just gundam, along with tools, paints, ect. They are really friendly. and speak enough English that if you cant say something in Korean they can help you out.

I'm not sure if they do special orders or not, but you can ask.

The shop is called "Academy Hobby" and you cant miss it when ou see it cause there are gundam and other figure EVERYWHERE in the windows.

If you can find Todai Sushi buffet and go around to where there are some stiars that lead down to a slightly lower floor....it'll be right there.

check it out.
