|
|
A friend was offered some part-time work writing practice TOEIC questions for a small hogwan. The questions are for the listening part - listening to a short conversation and then answering three questions. Does anyone know how much native speakers usually get paid per question (one listening conversation OR short passage + 3 questions)? Or how much would you expect to receive?
I think my friend's offer was too low - and told her not to bother (even though I guess it would be good experience). |

Probably the best way to guesstimate would be to time how long it takes you to listen to a sample and prepare 3 questions.

If you have an hourly rate then you can do the maths. If it's a hagwon, I'm guessing they only want to pay you about 20,000 an hour.
(BTW, I'm not sure if the questions I linked to above are representative of the ones you'll be asked to work with) |

Thanks for the reply.
I checked the link. They asked her to make questions like the short talks
in Part IV (3~5). They are offering a per question rate (one passage +
3 related questions = 1 question).
How much would you want/expect for writing questions of that length? Perhaps I should ask this way: how many questions of that length (original and good quality) do you think you could write in one hour?
Thanks. |

I don't mean to be cheeky, but if you sit down and spend 10 minutes trying to do the exercise then you'll be in a better position to judge yourself. |
