I asked one of the teachers at my school this question, and she said what she always says:
Itaewon.
I don't think she ever goes there. I told her it's all restaurants now anyway.
So, any ideas on where I can buy some wellies/rain boots? Not the super expensive "name brand" kinds. Specific directions appreciated if you know. Thanks.
PS, does anyone else get this reaction from K-teachers? The foreigner wants something, just tell them to go to Itaewon for everything? |

I've never seen Wellingtans in Korea. Assuming the author of this thread is British you can get the typical"Skinhead" style Doctor Martins in Heywha. I've also rented the video tape of The Battle of Waterlloo.
Personally I think you can buy a 20 hole set of cherry reds and watch
The Battle of Waterloo at the Same time. |

Lotte Myeongdong has Hunters wellies. Not cheap though. |

I`m on the lookout for some rain boots too....seems really difficult to find over here. Anyone seen any reasonable priced ones about in Seoul? |

I just bought some for my kids at emart. I had to ask and they had to take them out of storage. They were put away because it is not rainy season anymore. They had more, but you would have to ask specifically. |

Go to any good sized market and a shoe booth will have them for cheap. Youngdeungpo, Guro, Dongdaemun, Namdaemun, etc...all the markets in these areas have tons of shoe shops that sell wellies for 10,000-50,000 won depending on the style. |

Yeah, I've noticed that they have become common now. Funny how that happens. |
