Posting this for a friend who doesn't have an account - I think you guys will be able to help here out ^^

Do you know of any major university libraries in Seoul that allow guests to browse the stacks? I don't need to check out any materials.

From what I can tell, a pass card seems to be required for even the most basic browsing access at most uni. libraries, but their websites aren't all that clear on card eligibility.

Thanks is advance!

SB.

At my uni (not in Seoul) it's just to walk in. They might require a card late at night, but even then it would just be to follow someone else entering. Don't know about Seoul, but if she just go to the library they'll probably let her in.

At the university at which I work (not in Seoul), one can just walk into the library. No passcard necessary. However, at Korea U., where I study, you need a student card to get into the library. If your friend can get onto the US base in Yongsan, there is a great library on base, and the British Council in Seoul also has an extensive collection. The Goethe Institut also has a sizeable library, though the collection is mostly in German and Korean.
