Hello everyone!
Id like to ask a 2-part question.

1. I was wanting to know, is the tourist visa for Koreans going to Canada 6 months, like it is with Canadians going into Korea?

2. And if their visa is also 6 months, could they simply enter the U.S. nearing the 6 month mark and re-enter Canada to get another 6 month visa extension?
I have seen some Canadians do that here in Korea

Thanks alot!

1) NO. Their visa is NOT 6 months. They CAN get 6 months on a visa waiver stamp (no visa required). This CAN be extended for UP TO 6 additional months.

2) Yes. They can go to the states and re-enter Canada with another 6 month stamp. It is NOT an extension. It is a new stamp.

Technically he is right. It's up to the sole discretion of the immigration officer weather to reject, give the full 6 months, or anywhere in between. But for most Koreans entering Canada as a tourist, most likely 6 months will be given.

Is your friend a young woman? Entering the US via Canada for young unmarried Korean women can be a hassle.

As long as she has a ticket home and contact information in Canada there is no worry.
