Excellent read so far.

My comment - no surprise that the Korean government system is designed to protect their local academy system from competition. Even though those restrictions happen to make it as easy as possible for the large chains to juice every last penny out of parents trying to give their children the best possible education.

Little bit sad really, especially considering the fact that language cannot be learned well if the student themselves do not WANT to learn it.

I bet if you compared a student who wanted to learn english, albeit having only access to the most basic of english educations, vs the student with the "top tier" super academy training, but not wanting to learn the language, there would be absolutely no contest.

Thanks. I'll pass the comments on to the writer (not myself)
Part 2 scheduled for Monday. (But we don't pressure our contributors)

What do you think of the rest of 3wm? How about "Monkey Must Read"

Thanks for reading. Mizaru

The sainted President Park didn't need no stinking hakwon to learn English. He did it on his own in a cramped little straw hut lit by lanterns.

True story. I live near there.

I heard that the first president of S. Korea realized that Scandinavians speak excellent English, so he married a Scandinavian chick just so his English would be awesome. Syngman Rhee I salute you. I intend to open a Swedish-blond English learning franchise chain in your honor. And stock it with both Scandinavian AND Californian blondes (I don't discriminate).
