The next time a korean quotes to me the phrase "when in rome, do as the romans do".

I am going to discuss the korean restaurant I walked into in my country where from the latest korean hits playing, to the advertisements for soju on the wall, to the food it served and the questions asked in korean was absolutely no different than any other restaurant in Korea.

If I didn't know any better, I would have thought I never left. I will mention the supermarket with korean writing on the walls outside advertising what it sells to what it is. The products which are 100% imports from korea (not one item was from anywhere other than korea). To the service people who only speak korean and look strangely at the white person who entered thier store.

I will say "when I am in Korea and I act as a korean will be the day that koreans live in my country and act as citizens of my country).

I can tell you that some koreans have not left korea. They might have changed countries, but they don't live in my country anymore than the most hardened (I am only going to eat, speak and think anti korean everything NET) truly considers themself living in Korea.

The land on which these buildings are built on may not be korea, but once you enter - you are no longer in kansas anymore.

You are right Koreans in American should get out and fraternize more. Though just like Burger King here the Korean restaurant back home is selling a 'foreign experience'.

Also the average human being doesn't take such issue to things like that. They're more concerned with manners and respect towards people. Something both sides fail at to a considerable degree. Also the average person can differentiate between someone who wants a taste of home and someone who is walling themselves off from their new land.

If you don't want to play by Korea's customs and rules, fine. Just don't complain when you end up left out, ignored, or on the losing side of things because of that. Same with Koreans overseas.

The question for both groups is- if you're so attached to your own way of life, why did you go half-way around the world to a totally foreign culture? For the money? Then why are you so upset over mercenary attitudes regarding yourself?

Actually thats not quite true. They are not selling a foriegn experience because in many of the cases they are not aimed at local non koreans. Their main customers are koreans, though you find a similar situation in a number of chinese restaurants and bars here.

And also a large number of Western bars, restaurants, book stores

There's nothing wrong with wanting a taste of home from time to time

The Western bars, where the only Korean guys are serving you. Or girls looking for a 'fun' night.
