we had a "meeting" yesterday and when I say meeting i mean us sitting in a room with the boss and the korean teachers and the supervior while the boss goes on and on in korean about whatever, and of course we dont understand a damn thing. anyways, when he finished talking, aparently tomorrow we have to go to the school at 1030 and go to 3 or 4 different public elementry schools to hand out flyers for the school for two hours. Now it's pretty damn cold outside, and he is paying us, but I think he's not paying us enough, if I say no im going to look like the asshole again, any suggestions on waht to do?

Here's a related thread...

Thank your luck stars that you aren't in a miniskirt like some of the other "promotional models" passing out adverts in front of newly opened businesses. You are a better man than I....

i find it assuming that when we ask for favors like, can we come in at 200 instead of 130 since we dont start until 4? no no no u have to keep the rule...yes but it's ur rule. so he can ask for favors and expects us to do it just because he's paying us and he thinks that all teachers will jump to make more money even if it's a dollar no matter what the job is, but when we ask for favors he says no, why the hell should we help now, what's he gonna do fire us? he's treating us like korean teachers, do as i say and shutup.

at an elementary school? you will be hotter than the dancing girls that open new shops...

it is your boss's business, he is your boss.... you work for him.

he can ask you to do anything he wants.. you on't have to do it but your decision, either way, might show on your reference.

it is sometimes worth biting your tongue and doing whats asked

i dont need a reference and if it's an unreasonable request, then why the hell should I do what he asks, he doesnt try to make our lives easier if we have a suggestion. just because he's my boss, it doesnt mean i have to do things that i dont agree with or that are way way out of my job description

I got asked to do the same thing at my first school here, except that we had to got to University campuses, and it was -17 that day. I decided to bite the bullet and do it. I drew the line however, when we ran out of promotional materials for the English program, and I had to hand out stuff for the Japanese program. ( The Japanese teacher was no where to be found)

why should i help him i hate him. if he treated us better i wouldnt have a problem helping him but he doesnt. it's not my job to get kids into the seats, i have enough classes to worry about, why should i worry about advertising? im paid to teach not to advertise. my average class is 23 students, who has had 23 screeming 7 year olds in a 50 min class? it's hell.
