As the title says, I need a car.
There are a couple places selling them around town but I trust them less than me, and I was a "good" used car salesman back across the lake.

I dont care about looks, body work, or interior condition. I want a reliable motor and drivetrain, thats it. Hence you can imagine I'm not going to shell out top dollar for something in the recent 2k's.

A 1994 Kia POS suits me just fine.

So if you have something to move for a teacher who like you got sick of the suicidal bus driver carting them back and forth to the factory for business English classes send a PM.

You're right. You do have exactly what I'm looking for and where you are doesnt matter to me. Afterall I'm buying a car, I can just drive it home.

Two problems on this end also. My contract expires in July and I need a car Now. I cant take another day with Mr. Suicide who drives 90kmh in a 30 zone, cuts off busses, and screams at children for using the crosswalk.

Good luck on the sale though, if you change your mind let me know, I'll be there the next day.

I have Hyundai Accent, 1.5 l, 1997, white, automatic transmission, for sale starting from next week.
Mileage: just 85,000 km (!!!)
No substantial scratches or dents on car's body. No problems with anything, including engine, transmission, suspension, electrical stuff, radio...
Timing belt was replaced 3 years ago, at 65,000 km.
In spite of respectable age, the car is in a very good condition. I own this car for 4 years and never visited service except for a regular maintenance.
Next vehicle inspection - August 2011.

I will add a 7" navigation system (Mappy, manufactured by Hyundai Mobis, 2GB flash card): "speaks" English, free updates every 2 months through Mappy's website.

What I want for this pride of Korean automotive industry with navigator is just 1,800,000 KRW.

I will send you pictures if you're interested.

So op you are staying until July and want to buy a car for only...what 4 months? Good luck with the sale! Just seems like a lot to go through for such a short period of time: insurance, and taxes. In Korea taxes are due twice a year...make sure that when you buy the car that the taxes are taken care of and that there are no tickets on it. Again good luck!

Trust me I have weighed the advantages and disadvantages heavily.
I can only say this, if you have ridden with the average minibus driver here on a regular basis you will understand my position.

If not let me explain.
A: The horn is used instead of breaks as life is just a big game of chicken which I am looking to lose.
B: If someone in a nice car is available for angering do not hesitate to endanger the lives of all passengers to make their life hell.
C: Professional means I havent died yet.

Plus look at the taxi rates in this cheap taxi nation. Which I dont find all that cheap, overall, and I think it makes sense.

Truthfully I could be walking into a crapper, as I have avoided cars for over 8 years back in the States, but when it all adds up go for it.
Also after being in about 8 wrecks that were deemed totaled by cheap insurers I like the idea of a hood and other chassis components to a Maits insta coffin.

Nick, thanks for asking,
there is a buyer already, but if he changes his mind, I will come back to you next week. As I'm unable to initiate PM yet, watch this topic please. Hope Chambertin won't mind our communication here Smile

Best regards,
Oleg.

When you sell the car you have to provide a Tax Clearance Certificate issued by the local Gu-office. I don't see how the new owner can be cheated on that.

Don't worry. I don't mind.

As a matter of fact between the few companies who will speak English to me and my 10 year old insurance company back in the states not willing to provide a 16 year claims history (which I fully understand). Things have kinda stalled on my end.

Funny, have money and have desire but the dreaded 5 on my weigook card is baffling the Korean system of life once again.

Still there is hope, but will know by tomorrow just what the deal is.

EDIT:
Insurance came through at the last minute, turns out you dont have to have proof of anything to get the insurance, it is jsut something the underwriting company really likes to see for us weigooks.

Picking it up tomorrow.
No more suicide runs for me, only the off chance of being killed by one of them, at least that way its clearly murder. ^_^
