Should I get the vaccine before coming to Korea? Is the flu season already over in Korea? It only last for six months, so us it worth getting? It will be good through Sept.

No you will not need to get an H1N1 vaccine.

A)It's not flu season here.
B)The H1N1 scare was a corporate welfare program. Millions of doses of the vaccine are currently being discarded by govts all around the world.

LESS people died from hiney than normal flu last year. For those that did catch hiney, they were less likely to die from it than from normal flu.

I got both shots of the H1N1 and regular flu vaccines before I left for Korea. I find that I'm more susceptible to colds and flus when I re-locate somewhere abroad. There's no need to worry about getting H1N1 in SK. If anything, the shots are preventive care when your body's down and immune system is weak due to stress about moving, packing, whether or not you made a good decision about your particular school, etc...

Senior,
"B)The H1N1 scare was a corporate welfare program. Millions of doses of the vaccine are currently being discarded by govts all around the world."

I believe that, but where can I read about governments discarding them?
It was pretty obvious that it was fear mongering, and a cash grab for pharmaceutical companies. Some people with extreme opinions would even say its eugenics (sic Alex Jones).
It was rediculous how as soon as the kids got vaccinated, all the H1N1 talk was silenced in the media.

Hmm, I believe I read that in a BBC article.

EDIT: Just googled "H1N1 vaccine discarded", and it seems that the vaccine has a very short shelf life. If you were in the conspiracy way, you could claim the phamas gave the vaccine a short shelf life on purpose.

No, that sound you are hearing is not the crinkling of tin foil.

Read much? He/she said the roomate got infected and the bug was gone in 3 day. He/she/it never said anything about a vaccine. Senior should learn what a period is as well:)

Fair enough, but why should I learn about full stops if not a single one appears in the post in question?
