I thought the "character" segment was strikingly similar, but I stopped watching after they preached about food wastes in the context that they "could be helping starving nations with such waste". That's a complete non sequitur which makes me want to punch something really hard.

Yeah, I thought it seemed a tad too xenophobically critical, so I read the credits.

Still would've been nice to see some balance.

Yeah there are SOME similarities...but lots and lots of differences too..

Korea, Japan and China...so geographically close BUT sooo many differences then comparatively...

True things:

-Korean women/girls are also obsessed with brands as status symbols.
-Koreans also seem to have a high percentage of people with bad eye sight although not sure.
-Korean women/girls are also obsessed with weight and diets.
-Koreans also have trouble expressing how they really feel sometimes, especially when it's appropriate to do so (Other times they're incredibly blunt at inappropriate times).
-Korean cities also have incredibly limited living spaces, especially to an American.
-Tons of love hotels in both countries.
-I'm sure Koreans have sex less than the rest of the world as well.
-Both countries have high rates of suicide. Busy, depressing lifestyles abundant.

Differences:
-Japan's tap water is safe to drink.
-Sushi and Japanese rolls are vastly superior to gimbap (opinion)
-They waste an incredible amount of resources on wooden chopsticks while Koreans typically use metal ones.

Many similarities. Most of the things in the VIDEO aren't different from Korea. Looking at different aspects not brought up in the video, the countries are very different, comparable to Germany's differences from France or something to that effect imo.

The women comments made me laugh. What nations women are not obsessed with looking pretty and owning expensive things?

Why did the video continually link Japan's prosperity with wasting food? All prosperous nations waste food. Wasting food doesn't make poor nations worse off, so who cares? If Japan didn't exist poor countries would still be hungry.

Really? I always thought Koreans had the same mentality as the Japanese and their tap water really was ok.

Kimbap and Sushi have two totally different concepts. They're about as similar as ramen and Italian pasta.

I'm not getting it either. What date was it added? The link just takes me to wimp.com. I can't find the japanfacts video on that page.

Wow. You're right.

Weird. They removed all the English versions online, but not the Japanese ones. Japan IS a strange country...

Edit\: Found one.
