Question 1)

I got a phone from a friend and used it for about 2 weeks as a pay as you go phone. I put 140k won on it and figured that'll last me a good while. The stupid phone broke down (it won't charge anymore) and so i can't use that. Is there anyway to do something about this, to get another pay as you go phone and transfer the credit onto it....or anything similar? Any suggestions on how to recoup this lost monies =/

Question 2)
Another friend gave me his phone since he is moving out of Korea. He had a 12 month contract and there is one month left on it. I want to transfer the contract over to my name and add another 12 months on it. Is this a simple process? If i go in with his ARC number, full name, and my ARC card, passport should I be able to do this?

Thanks..

I can't help you with that, but depending on the age of the phone, you can go into a phone store and get a second battery and a charging base (it's gonna use the same charger that you plugged right into your phone). Then when you need a charge, switch batteries.

So what you are saying is that I can charge the battery independent of the phone? Then just put the battery into the phone and then I can use it? If so, that's awesome + genius. Thanks.

Yea, you can do that. When you buy a new phone, it usually comes with two batteries. This is super convenient, because you can let the spare battery charge, then when you need a new batt. you just swap them over. No need to tether your phone to an outlet for hours at a time.

Yes, but if your phone is any more than (no joke) 8 months old, it's a crapshoot if you'll be able to go to your local Pone and Pun to get another battery and charging base.

I happen to know quite a bit about this as I had to go look for my spare battery and charging base last night after the charging socket on my phone failed for the last time. : P

If the indicator light on the charger (plugged into the phone) is orange does anyone know what that means? Is the phone being charged?

Yes, that means it is charging. It will turn to green in an hour or so when it is done.

For your information, yes you can change the handset and keep all the credit. But you cannot change the phone number or move the credit to a different number without losing it.

As for the contract one, it usually requires the original owner to be present to transfer the ownership.
