As far as I know on an F2 if you get divorced, you're done. Better start looking for another visa. If you've got enough points you might qualify for an F-2S someone posted on that a bit ago. You need good Korean skills and a masters to even have a shot though.

I expected that I need to get a different visa, Im not worried about that.
Im curious though once the divorce paperwork is filed/completed, does the f2 suddenly stop from that point, or does it expire on the date on the ARC no matter what??

Also, where is the divorce process done? The local Gu-office?? Immi.??

I'm really sorry to hear about your possible divorce.

From what I've heard from others in your situation, you had better start squirelling money away NOW. Hard cash, not in a bank, and not in your apartment. Maybe with a trusted friend.

Joe...in all fairness its pretty normal that a couple that divorces share the assets equally.

Unless there are kids involved, there will be no alimony in the equation...it will then boil down to splitting the assets fairly between each person.

Then again things get nasty in certain divorces...

soulofseoul,

I find it unlikely that assets you own in your home country and that you purchased BEFORE the marriage would be part of the divorce settlement....
