How many recruiters do you usually work with. When I posted my resume online. I got a ton of recruiters sending me jobs. I applied to many of them. However, I have found two recruiting companies that I really like and have given me great tips on the process of looking for a job.

My question is do you still apply for other jobs not with your recruiter company and if offered a position how do you handle letting them know? I don't want to burn any bridges because I may want to use them at another time if I need to look for a different job in a year or so.

Work with as many as you want! I'm currently job-hunting and have probably sent e-mails to 20-30 recruiters and schools in the past couple of months. Many of those didn't get back to me or stopped sending me jobs after a while, but I would say I'm in ongoing communication with at least 4 recruiters at the moment. My personal opinion is that you're not committed to a job or recruiter until you and the school have both signed a contract. Short of that point, you're still a free agent - might as well market yourself as best as you can.

Once you get a job, just tell them so and thank them for their time. Most recruiters aren't naive enough to believe that you'd be using one recruiter exclusively, and would be happy to place you at a future date. It seems like it'd be pretty hard to burn bridges with a recruiter - unless you do something that makes them look really bad, like flaking out on the job or getting fired...

keep track of who is who and where they rep.
I am currently speaking with 8-10.

You have no obligation to them, as they have none to you.

And the same goes if you're applying for a public school position?
