|

I've been teaching at the same middle school for four years and every semester I've had extra after school classes at 20,000 won per class. I'm usually the only teacher at our school teaching after school. This year the pay was boosted to 30,000 won. Now my co-teacher tells me that I don't need to bother with extra classes this term... He's teaching them. |

| I'm a workhorse and I'd rather take the extra 480,000 won a month, but... rest I shall. |

| The co-teacher is teaching for the test and the kids know it. They all decided high test scores are more important than speaking. |

I envy you. Tell him he can have mine as well. |

| Well if you dont mind then no harm, no foul. Personally I love teaching afterschool classes. At my school its 45,000won an hour so more than worth the extra effort! |

45,000?! That's amazing. Did you negotiate that or is it just standard rate for your POE? |

I do mind, but not enough to make an issue of it and jeopardize my otherwise good relationship with my thieving co-teacher.
Only enough for a short glass here at the whine cafe. |

I think the standard rate here is 30,000. But my school told me if I get a certain number of students to sign up than I will make 45,000won an hour. So of course I lobbied my students like hell.
OP, that does suck but I agree that its always best to pick and choose your battles. |
