Can anyone tell, or tell where one can find information about, which of of the plays and musicals currently playing in the Hyehwa / Daehangno area are good? I see lots of posts about how seeing "a play or musical" in Hyewha is a fun thing to do, but I don't want to simply hop off the subway and throw a dart. Thanks!

I actually went by the Sarang Ticket Office (just about 30 meters straight out of Exit 2) today, and the staff were very helpful. A lady there helped me identify a good musical called 빨리 -- by the same production company that did Line 1, which ran for many years and was a big hit. It's on an open run, and I definitely plan to check it out sometime. However, I saw another play advertised at Dongsoong Art Center (just behind Exit 1) that's only running until May 18 or so-- a production of A Streetcar Named Desire! (Korean name is 욕망이라는 이름의전차) I've never seen a production of this play but have always wanted to, so that's where I'm headed this Sunday.

For anyone who's interested, I'll post again afterward to report how it is!

The play was excellent. It was done entirely in Korean, and I don't speak any, but the actors did such good jobs it was easy to get into. It's even better if you read the English script of the play before watching it. I read the first few scenes, and I was able to follow what was happening in those scenes very well and could often discern which line an actor was speaking.

Great production of a classic play!
