Pardon the mundane question, I'm no longer in Korea and I'm trying to remember how much was taken out of my paycheck per month. (I made 1.9 million won per month.)

I assume it would be pretty much the same for everyone. I think it was 3% and then 10% of 3%--is that about right?

Last week during my discussion with Paul the EFL-Law guy, he explained a bit about the tax issue....worth a listen I think.

It depends on the employer and how much they want to declare that you earn and then how much they have to contribute towards your pension, or how much they pay you but don't declare.

That is the situation I have had, but now pay less tax as, alledgedly, my salary is lower than it is. They were completely above board when they told me about this and told me that certain 'cooking' was going on, but it means I save money every month as a result. I think it is about 4% now.
