|
|
Tomorrow, I'm planning on going to Yongsan to get a computer built. I want to dualboot it with windows 7 and snow leopard. I know Korea isn't the most mac friendly place... will I have a problem getting it done at Yongsan? Is it something I have to work out at home? While i've never built a computer before, I know my way around one so its not something I'm worried about. I'd just rather have someone more technically proficient do it.
That being said, if I do have to do it at home, anyone have any advice to make the process easier? |

This guide does work. I posted a message on here last year and got the same reply. I got the exact parts. A friend brought me a few things from the states, but most should be available here. There are some substitutes that you can use (read the hackintosh forum for compatible parts).
My Dual boot Vista/Leopard (now Windows 7 and Leopard) is still going strong.
Good luck. |

Or if you don't want to deal with all that, just get a Mac and install Windows on it. I'm doing that now and it's perfect. |

That is the best solution. Unfortunately, the cheapest actual Apple desktop is $2,499 or 3,390,000 won. I woud like a real Apple computer because Hackintosh computers still have minor problems, but it's just too expensive. |

I set this up awhile back but my hard drive crashed and just recently got around to replacing it. Ive been reading about some custom bios' that have just been released and might try that this time around when installing snow leopard as there is a lot less hacking involved. |

Whether or not you go genuine and fork out for a Mac, or go the DIY route depends on what you plan to use it for. If you want to play the latest games, then a Windows/Hackintosh rig will be the best bet.
If you just want a fully-functional and stable Mac, then go legit. Hackintoshes are good but they are not 100% stable. They can so easily be corrupted, or have random crashes and kernel panics.
I have a Hackintosh that I use mainly for it's excellent music apps. Everything else can be done just as well on the PC. |
