|

Hi everyone.
Specific background check question- hopefully this hasn't been mentioned elsewhere.
Did anyone receive a state of CA background check?
I am a bit concerned because, although mine is clean, there is a block of legal subtext that doesn't sound helpful in terms of visa acquisition:
"...the purpose of a record review request is to afford an individual with a copy of their record... The intent is not to be used for licensing, certification or employment purposes."
I believe that this is just a state of CA formality (employers here are required to formally request background checks themselves & there's a lot of legislation about who can do this, etc ...), but can anyone tell me if this is going to render my background check invalid? Or should I just have the letter notarized + apostilled and call it a day?
Thanks in advance for comments.... |

I am from California and sent in a background check with something similar. I am still in the process of getting my Visa, so I can't say for sure, but I don't think that will be a problem. Although you need the CBC to get the job, it is actually required as a Visa document, not by the actual employer. A visa is one of the uses allowable with a personally requested background check. |

Thank you!! That clears everything up. As long as visa acquisition is an acceptable use of a personally requested CBC, I think it will be fine. Thanks again! |
