Hi folks!
My name is Tim and I'm interested in being your plus one for weddings, 1st birthdays, and other such events in Seoul! A free meal is all I ask for in return. Ever since I attended my first wedding hall wedding in Korea, I've been aching for another one of those amazing meals.
Let me tell you a bit about myself. I am (almost) 23 but can grow some fuzz if I need to look older--that's rare for an Asian! I can be both soft-spoken and respectful or crazy and fun in social situations. I'm not hideous. I'm 6'1" so wear heels if you'd like. I am a god at schmoozing with Koreans.
If you need a plus one, I'm your man (as long as there's food in it for me)!
So PM me or respond here if you're interested (in feeding me)

Sounds like someone spent too much of video games and soju and now has no money for food... |

There was a thread not too long ago about friends for hire for events. According to the accompanying article, lots of folks do it as a part time job.
Not a bad deal, if you ask me. It would be a lot to memorize in a short time, but who doesn't want a Western friend?
Sure beats the professional mourners of Europe past |

Oh wow, friends for hire. That would certainly beat the second gig I picked up.
Has anyone else seen this film? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0493420/
As destructive/harmful/potentially life-ruining a job as a host would be, I've always been a tempted to try it out. The movie made that idea even MORE appealing to me--does that make me crazy? What goes on in my head: So what if he coughs up blood every night and his liver is shot, he's 22 and makes 5,000,000 yen a month!
Might be important to mention that I'm also a guy that broke all speed limits to chow down on 3 Big Macs, 2 quarter-pounders with cheese, and 4 orders of fries at McD's immediately after watching Supersize Me.
Update: I'll also be your friend for hire |

i've gotten paid to go to a korean wedding. i wouldn't want to go again unless it offered payment. the food isn't worth the techno music and laser and magic shoes you have to sit through. i'd rather get my afternoon back and buy a steak on my own dime. |
