hello
just bought a sampler with an american plug.
it says input:120v, 60hz, 15w
output: 12v, 650mA

A 15 amp plug converter (the smallest I've ever seen in Korea) should be more than enough for you...
Not just a plug-end (adapter), but one that converts voltage. I bought one for 9k in Yongsan not too long ago... (Home appliances section of Ipark Mall)
You shouldn't need to buy a full transformer for a 15w appliance (I'm guessing shaver/blow dryer/something small along those lines?)
Just make sure you don't plug something like a 1500w toaster oven into your 15 amp plug converter like I did (wasn't thinking the math through, LOL)... It makes for a nice loud pop and a lot of smoke/carbon scoring on your outlet... lol |

I would go with an Autobot. The Decepticons would probably cause an explosion.
hahaha, but seriously,
For a 15w appliance, you can use a small step-down transformer. I bought one off of gmarket that was wasn't very big and was pretty cheap. |

Since it's running off an adapter, you could just buy a Korean one with the same output (12V, 650mA), then you wouldn't need the extra chunk of electronics getting in the way. |

Am I going to be OK plugging in my Japanese external HD (100V input) into a step down transformer with an output of 110V? 10% of 100V is 110V so it falls within the range that should be OK according to what I read on the net.... |

You'll be fine. |

You want to see something like, "110v~230v," for dual voltage. If it only says, "110v," you can be sure of getting fried out of your mind if outside the USA. |

Is the appliance running off of an adapter though? Sounds like it's just a regular old piece of electronic goodness that plugs straight into the wall without a little black box... |

I kind of assumed he was reading off a little black box since he mentions the output. If the adapter was internal, it probably wouldn't have an output. |

I've got a toaster oven with an American plug that has output listed on the back... At least I'm pretty sure it does, will have a look when I get home...
Needs a full transformer to run... 1500w of baked goodness baby! lol |

Obviously the coolness is disquising itself well then... Transformers 1, Shifter 0 |
