Hello all,

The Camarata Music Company will be having it's spring concert on Saturday, May 1, at 7:30 PM. The concert is at Changshin University (Near Walker Hill in Seoul), and is complete with choir, orchestra, and soloists.

Our last concert, in December (Handel's "Messiah") was a major success, with over 1,000 members in the audience, to see this multi-cultural performance, and it received great media reviews. We are aiming for even more people at this concert.

We will be performing Faure's "Requiem", Durufle's "Requiem" and Rheinberger's "Stabat Mater". The music is lovely, and the choir has been working very hard on it!

The Camarata Music Company aims to provide an opportunity for people, both Korean and foreigners, to perform beautiful classical music together. With the lack of performance opportunities within Korea, we aim to provide an avenue for classical musicians to perform, hone in on their musical technique, build repertoire, and perform. With performers from many nationalities, we hope to bring many different experiences from people of many different cultures. We also wish to provide more opportunities for the public to hear classical performances, and experience collaborative performances of people from many different nationalities. CMC is also trying to raise money to establish a music program in local orphanages and low-income areas. Part of the proceeds go to this project.

What: Faure/Durufle "Requiem", Rheinberger "Stabat Mater"
When: Saturday May 1, 7:30 PM
Where: Changshin University, Seoul, Korea (near Walker Hill)
Price: 20,000 won

Tickets can be purchased through any of the members of the choir, or by contacting Ryan at: [email protected], or 010-9806-8655.

We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming concert!!!!

Nobody enjoys a good classical music concert...it is simple something people feign interest in, in order to appear cultured and high-class.

The reason that Koreans are so into classical music is simply because it washes some of the K-pop out of their brains, in effect preventing them from going absolutely and categorically insane.

yea that. And gettin the word out. proceeds go for a great cause (creating a music program in orphanages and low-income areas, including free music lessons, buying instruments for the kids, creating a choir and orchestra), so we want to get a lot of support. Smile http://www.camaratamusic.com
