I probably use about 15 different computers at school and I am sick of getting viruses automatically installed on my usb as soon as it goes in school computers. I know I ve seen some usb drives back home with a switch on it so you can physically move it so that it can be read only. The problem is I cant seem to find one here. I suppose there might be software out there that requires a password before it can be written to but i have my doubts about the effectivness of that.

Any help? Thanks alot

How bout a CD-RW. cost you about 100 won, copy your stuff onto it, take it with you, re-write it for the next day and repeat.

If 700mb is too small... dvd-rw is 4.7gb. Think, BIG floppy disk.

Otherwise, seon-in plaza or the internet to get what you seek.

Maybe an online solution?

Free 2GB shared folder. I've been using it for a little while and it works well. It installs and syncs a folder across as many computers as you want so you can access your files from anywhere.

Open windows explorer, right click on the drive, click properties, click security, change permissions to write for applicable users to "DENY." Change permissions again when you wanna do stuff.

I have had the same problem at work. I use a San Disk micro SD card with write protect in a USB adapter.

Look for Autorun eater. Everytime I go to the PC bang or use a schools computer I install it.

Easy to use and install. No reboot needed.

Edit also consider downloading subs Flash Disinfector and run it on you usb drives. It will create a directory called Autorun.inf which contains one file that can not be erased easily. Only use if you do not care about running any programs by Autorun. Viruses will still be copied onto the drive but they will not be able to infect the drive.
