I've read a couple threads on this issue, but none really answered my question.... exactly.
I have a really strong prescription.... therefore, my lenses are really thick. Can I still get glasses in Korea (with ease and affordability) if my eyes are that bad? Are the frames thick enough to support a thick lens?
Thanks a lot!
I am gonna be there soon, and i am debating on wether I should get my glasses here in the states, or wait it out.... |

Hi There,
You should be able to get lenses made however you want. Plenty of glasses shops in the bigger cities.
Frames can be differently styled at times.. If you have a pair of frames you want badly I recommend bringing them.
I have gotten lenses made to fit a prescription for 25,000 Won, about $25. Sure it would compare favorably.
Good Luck, |

Bring in your prescription, pick out your frames, and the guy will grind your lenses. Not hard at all. Cheap too. |

I got those bendy memorex metal wire frames with Japanese lenses for 100k at Italy Optical in Itaewon in 5 hours. It's known that Namdaemun is popular for glasses so I probably paid about 25,000 more for a convenient English speaking location. They seem to be much more practical and efficient in producing the glasses and customer service than you'd ever see in a Western country. |
