I am currently applying for the EPIK PS postilions in August and I had a question about the CBC.
I applied for and just got my CBC from my local police department, but I just read yesterday on EPIK's site that they wont accept local police. does this mean I am out 55 bucks and have to get one from the RCMP? |

As far as I know the Ottawa Police do not give a VSS Police search for out side of the country. You can get a local one or I did anyway. The Police told me that the Korean embassey accept this. |

I find the Korean's asked for something which the Canadian Police won't give. Or that's what the Police in Ottawa told me. |

I Live in a suburb of Vancouver and we have our own municipal police, so I got the CBC from there
the problem is this
Quote: |
The Criminal Record Check (also known as a Police Certificate) must be issued by your provincial/state or national police authority. CRCs issued by police authorities below the provincial/state level (e.g. city or county police) will not be accepted |
http://www.epik.go.kr/
I actually went to the RCMP office at my University and they said they do not give it out to people who are not university residents.
now I am worried that not only will I have to dish out another 55 bucks but wait another 2-3 weeks for it to come in
so I guess what I am asking is if people have previously used their municipal or city police and if have had any problems. |

I think I found the answers to my question
I checked the website for the Korean consulate in Vancouver and they say
Quote: |
Must submit a Police Certificate or Criminal Record Check issued within the
last 6 months only by RCMP or Municipal Police in BC, AB, SK, Yukon, NT. |
so I think i am good to go
thanks for the help guys |

Ottawa Police station on Elgin station only give out the CPIC (Green form). Basically the Police check their computers which are either city or provience level and they give it to you there and then.
Korean embassey in ottawa accept a CPIC form. Police here don't give out VSS anymore for people getting a job outside the country. |
