Your local Emart or homeplus should have an okay selection of big-name foreign beers. Prices usually run 2,000 to 3,000 won per can or bottle.

There are some bars that "specialize" in international beers. I'd say the common imports usually run 6,000 or 7,000. Wa-bar is a common one and probably has at least one location in Changwon.

There are some brewpubs in Busan. The only one I've been to is the Heosimbrau in Oncheonjang. The beer was not bad and they have a live band and a crowd of lively hiking ajummas to dance with.

You can also find supplies to homebrew online.

Emart in Changwon sucks for beer. They have some pretty good deals on cheap beers, at the moment, but their selection is dire. Oettinger is 1800 for a big can right now.

Homeplus has a pretty good selection, but is waaaaaay too expensive. eg 3400 for one bottle of Sam Adams.

Hey there,

If you can make it all the way up to Chuncheon, there will be a Brewery tour and BBQ on the 24th. There will even be IPA!!! (the pickup point is Itaewon)

Bottling my homebrew IPA as we speak!

It's not that difficult, and if you like good beer, it'll save you a lot of money.

Oh, and also, it'll make you friends.
