I have my E-2 Consulate Visa Interview next week.

What does this usually consist of?
Any examples of questions and/or things they may ask?
What is the proper attire for this interview?

Dress for success. That is my tip. The questions will usually be:

a. Why do you want to teach in Korea?
b. Do you like Samsung?
c. Do like Koreans?
d. Do you like to eat Kimchi?

That would be the usual assessment. If anyone can provide further questions, as I have never had an interview with the consulate being married with a Korean helps.

if you can make a witty observation about ddong chim.... so much the better....just dont do it in the consulate interview itself.

Mine was ridiculously easy and short. Make sure to dress up though... they called me in and asked me "Why do I want to teach" "what is your degree (they asked this twice for some reason)" "Have you taught before" "Why did you choose korea". They wanted me to answer pretty quickly so it took all of seven or eight minutes. Not nearly as intense as I thought it might be.

Mine was mostly quizzing me on who I said I was. He had my sheet of information and asked me questions about what my name is, where I went to college, what I studied, etc. I was also asked if I had traveled and why I wanted to teach in Korea. Super easy, unless your making some lies on your application which you have to remember.

I just had my interview yesterday in Chicago. It was straightforward and the conversation was pretty casual. I didn't know what to wear, so I went semi-casual and didn't get any bad looks. The Consulate asked questions about why I wanted to teach in Korea, what I knew about Korea, what sort of teaching experience I've had, and where else I've traveled.

My advice would be to talk a little bit slower than normal and try not to tell really long stories. It'll be over in 15 minutes or less .
