Hi...just wondering what your housing is like and where do you live (province or city).
If you're in Seoul are you living in a studio type villa? If you're in Gyeonggi are you in an studio-type officetel? What about down south? Do you live in a 2 or 3 bedroom villa type housing, or perhaps in an actual korean high rise apatment?

while in gyeonggi i lived in a studio officel but it was pretty spacious for an officetel. i also lived down in Jeolla province in a bigger 1 bedroom + living room + kitchen type of housing. It was big, but not as new or clean. i prefer the smaller but newer officetel to a bigger, older villa.
i wouldn't mind living the highrise apt, had friends living in one and that thing was huge, you could easily fit 60 peeps or so!

The pyeong is what...? 10? So not very large for floor-span, but there's a loft bedroom area and an 12-foot ceiling. One of these walls is a 12-foot picture window overlooking a park.

It's one of the reasons I'm still in this country. I'm a homebody and this is the best apartment I've ever had! Thanks boss!

PS supplied room. I am using room in the Korean sense (13 feet X 13 feet).

My room is so tiny that if my neighbor leaves their bathroom light on, the light shines through my kitchenette window and lights up my room. I haven't slept in the dark for 2 months.

Basically, it's a rat hole.

Proper numbered highrise, 18 pyeong. After 2 small officetels, it's nice to have a division between sleeping space and cooking space. I do miss the array of businesses on the ground floor though. This is near downtown Anyang.

We were able to put up a decent wolsae deposit this year and left the school apartment for a 2br 31 py. 30th story place. Don't feel like going anywhere now. Stupid friends and work making me leave my house.

Hoping to rent it out within in the next few years and move to Hongdae or Bukcheon.

Bundang - 22py (about 72m2 / 720 sq.ft.) officetel, 24th floor, overlooking the Tancheon.

School supplied "single" housing.

Management and utilities run about 120-160k per month.

i shared a 3 room + kitchen, bathroom with a friend of mine. lived in an officetel apt and life was good and clean, but it was so expensive...
monthly bills were crazy....the highest was obviously in the winter where it would go over 400 000 a month (but we split that...)

You own a mid-rise? Nice! How did you go about doing that?

My wife and I have a 34pyeong appartment. Pretty nice, hard wood floors, great air flow in the summer, cheap heat in the winter, next to a large park, 3 bedrooms.

In some ways I like it more than housing back home. We can really open our place during the summer with all the sliding doors in every room, it's not monstrous and it's easy to clean, lots of sunlight, close to everything.

Only down side is poor insulation and sound insulation. Some of our walls get cold and grow mold and we can hear our neighbours too much. We have one bathroom we can't use in the winter because it gets too cold. I also miss having a yard, it's not as cool when you need to drag the barbie out to the park.
