Just curious as to which bars are the ones people on this board frequent in Seoul. When a big game is on, I like to hit one of the sports bars in Itaewon (like the Pacquiao-Clottey fight).

I'm into low-key places with no drunk slimeballs as regulars and friendly bartenders.

1) Scrooge -- I like the Filipino staff

2) Manila Bar -- good open karaoke and Filipino atmosphere (and yes, I like the Philippines and its people)

3) Dilinger's -- friendly bartenders and it's not a sausage party or loser fest like other Itaewon bars are

4) Beer O'Clock -- friendly bartenders and good location

I'm hoping more bars in the style of neighborhood watering holes open in Itaewon.

Nana in Itaewon hits the spot for me-- nice K-staff, nice foreigner/Korean mix of people, though it can get busy at times. Weekdays are great for listening to really cool tunes and meeting other relaxed people-- quite rare for the area. Almost feels like you're not in Korea (or Itaewon) at all.

Reggae pub was a favorite, I like it less now that it's on the hill and is called Club Zion.

manila's gotten too crowded so I dont like it as much anymore.

come to think of it, i don't seem to frequent bars as much as i used to, as the ones i used to hit up have gone under. i guess that's a good thing. i wonder if watt's on tap is still around

also, there's beer o clock in itaewon now?

Don't really get into the Ex Pat scene anymore. I will go to pretty much any Oil drum Samgyupsal restaurant.

Where are these bars ??
Im always in itaewon but have never seen these places. The Filipino place I wouldnt mind checking out especially.

Im a creature of habit so usually the wolfehound , good food ,good atmosphere good drink selection, will play any music you ask for and nice staff. Although I will agree that the crowd can be a bit sketchy sometimes.

Manila Bar is on the second floor of the building housing Nana. It's in the alley leading to Cafe Mignon.

Dilinger's is where Reggae Pub used to be.

Beer O'Clock is in Sinchon in the same alley as Woodstock.

Go past the KFC until you see a custom tailor shop called GG Kang. Go into that alley and look up to see the Manila Bar sign.
